Reward for effort before or after 11+ ???

My dd has worked really hard all summer to prepare for 11+ exams. Her first assessment day is next week & I think she deserves a reward for the effort she's put in . I'm thinking of getting her a small treat / present (nothing big) before she sits her exams to show that I'm proud of her no matter what the results, or should I wait until after the exams as she needs to continue to be focused for another month or so. What are your thoughts?

A small gift now will not ruin her focus. Her result won't change by getting a 'well done for doing your best' gift, I would get it before

Thanks. I'm over thinking the 'the results will be the reward' or the 'children shouldn't be rewarded for doing what is required' train of thought that appears to be so prevalent around me. I have been a little taken aback by it and now question if I'm too soft & adding to the 'snowflake generation' trait of children expecting to be rewarded for the littlest thing.

Before! Reward the journey, not the destination!!

I gave mine a treat on the day of exam tonsay hownproud I was that they had worked so hard. No link to results and they cd choose in advance how to spend the rest of the day or what treat they wanted.
