A bit of reassurance....?

Hi All,

My DD is 16 weeks old today. We’ve overcome one or two issues including evening fussy ness and hysterical crying. This really upset both my DH and I but we’re through that now.
This has left my DD only wanting to sleep in my arms. Nor will she go to anybody else as soon as she’s tired or hasn’t seen me in a few minutes she gets really upset.
I have just been going with the flow and I have and continue to try and get her down with every trick in the mummy manual.
Can somebody please offer any advice/reassurance that her only sleeping on me and only wanting me will pass? I keep practicing putting her down with minute success. I love her so much and love cuddles but it’s exhausting as I have another child and I feel sorry for hubby! Thank you....!!!

They change, I promise. Keep trying occasionally to put her down. It will work eventually.

I went through this with my 2nd daughter. She was so clingy I had to have her strapped to me in a sling for the first 4/5 months. I’m talking constantly, even while I was doing household chores.

Not gona lie, I was exhausted. I had a 4 YO at the time also. But I promise, it does get better and easier. My DD started to crawl at 6 months and was walking by 7 months so at that stage she started to amuse herself. She’s now such a perfect, lovely little 7 year old, it’s hard to imagine her as this screaming baby.

It is so so hard and I sympathise with you completely. You might think this stage will never end but I promise your baby will get better with time.

Good luck!

Also had second child ridiculously clingy I still call her a limpet and she's 5!

The first year my god she would have glued her self to my skin but like pp baby she was very advanced. Cruising at 6 months and walking at 11. Dd1 is bright but dd2 the limpet is another level of clever, articulate, gregarious and super confident.

We always described her as wanting to live at 100 miles an hour and looking back it started with the crazy demanding new born!
