Daughter had first jabs....

Little one just had her first vaccinations, she actually was very good bless her. I’ve followed advice and gave her calpol immediately after jabs and another dose 4 hours later.

She’s so unsettled though, pericing crying anytime I attempt to put her down. Like she’s in terrible pain- I appreciate this may not be the case. So I’m stuck on he sofa with her in my arms un able to move!

I’m assuming this is fallback from the jabs, I just wondered what I should expect over the next day or so- any advice welcome :)

My DDs legs were really sore, I think that's what caused her the most discomfort after so I was mindful not to put pressure on the tops of her legs where she was injected.

I think I gave her a bit of Ibuprofen the evening after the jabs alternating with the calpol to take some of the inflammation out, it felt like she had little balls under her skin where there was a wee bit of tissue damage. Other than that she was fine! They bounce back quickly Smile

Aren't they awful! I had to take DP with me for DS - i have a 6 year old DD who i had to take for her jabs alone & was fine. For some reason with DS i'm a mess & sobbed alongside him (i blame hormones!).

DS was quite unsettled for about 3 days i think, maybe four. He had a slight temp which made him ratty as hell & super clingy. His amazing sleep pattern died a painful death for about a week. Then one day he woke up all cheery & everything went back to normal.

Sorry, just read it's your babies first injections, Ibuprofen is for 3+ months so ignore that part of my comment!

Thank you, what a nightmare! Not looking forward to tonight, or the next few days!

She might just be tired from the shock of it. DS was a bit grizzly for a few hours but we didn’t have any fever or other side effects. No need to assume it’ll last days - it probably won’t.

Definitely isn't a given. Didn't notice any difference with DD but she was a raging nightmare anyway
You might be okay 🙂

My little DD was the same after her second lot of jabs. She was so upset and just wanted mummy cuddles all the time. Next lot due on Wednesday and we are going away at the weekend. I hope she will be ok by Friday as last time it went in for about 5 days. Poor little things, I hate injections so it must be really horrid for a baby. Calpol and cuddles for baby, chocolate for mummy xx
