9 month troubles - advice needed

Hi all,

Having trouble with 9 month old dd sitting in the pram!! She literally screams if putting her in or will only last about 5-10 minutes then moans to come out!!
She used to love being in the pram I'd go for one hour walks with her whilst I was on maternity daily and had no issue, now as times gone on being back at work etc don't really get to go for walks
So on the weekend I try take her out n about but she's refusing the pram. It's just so stressful especially if we're out busy shopping,

Just after any tips really of keeping her there longer, if she screams should I just carry on? I always see other dcs in prams who are sitting nicely and I can c their mums are trawling around the centres with. I bother! I just keep wondering where mines going wrong, could it be to do with cos she was used to it but then didn't get much walks through the week (due to me going back to work when she was 7 months) or is this just a phase?

Thanks all

Probably a phase. This is peak time for separation anxiety so perhaps she just doesn't want to be that far away from you. Is buggy parent or front facing? Try putting her on your front or back in a soft structured carrier?

It'll pass.

My 9month old is the same. She also whinges in the car seat (I put in the forward facing today but

Sorry pressed enter without finishing!!
She still moans in the car seat so will go back to rear facing.
I've decided to carry on with walks in the pushchair etc but only short ones. She just hates being locked down! She loves crawling, she's super nosey.. so short walks are fine

Have you tried distractions, toys, pram books, something musical?

Can you reconfigure the pram so that she is facing in the opposite direction? I.e. facing towards you if she's currently facing outwards.
Perhaps give her some extra back support. She might be getting back ache.
If there's a solid bar that goes across the pram in front of her, you could see if it can be removed. My DS used to hate being behind that bar. When we took it off, he was fine.

Thanks for the advice everyone :)
The pram I have is joie one, she used to be in a silver cross. I was paranoid maybe it was the pram but the silver cross one she grew out of anyway, she's quite a big baby for 9 months (tall n chunky lol) so will try it facing me it was just quite hard to Manoeuvre when it's parent facing (it's one of the flick back adjustable handle ones)

I have a backpack baby carrier is this what everyone means? I didn't think you could get a sling for a 9 month old?? She is pretty heavy? N quite wriggly too lol
