Eye colour

Hello!

Hope you're all well. Wasn't sure where to post this.

Just curious about my daughters eye colour. She's almost 4 months old and they are still this really dark blue colour and I'm wondering if they will turn brown! I know there's no set time and it can take years in some cases.

When the light shines through them from a side angle they look a brownish/bronze colour but from straight on they're still deep blue. Has anyone else ever noticed this? Is it a sign they may turn brown do you think?

Most of my other halfs family have brown eyes. Except for his parents. He has brown skin, black hair and dark brown eyes but both his parents have light hair and eyes. His great grandfather on his mother's side was Indian so he has a sleeper gene that skipped 3 generations!! Oh and on his father's side his great great grandfather was African-Portuguese.

Most of my family, including me, have blue eyes (except my Dad who has green).

When did your children's eye colours change?

They look like they will eventually turn brown. My son was born with very very dark blue/grey eyes but I knew they would turn brown because mine are very light blue and I would have thought if they were going to be blue they would have been light like mine. They turned properly brown when he was about 6 months. You daughter is beautiful by the way

They look like my DS1's did at the same age. By 6 months he definitely had brown eyes.

Although... DS2's were also like this. He is now 6yo and I still couldn't quite say for certain what colour his eyes are! They are bluey greyish on the outer 50% or so of his iris, and golden brown on the inner half of each iris! If asked, he will say he has blue eyes, but they're not really. Both his father and I have brown eyes but he has a grandparent with blue eyes and one with similar coloured eyes to him.

Hey all, thought I’d come back in an update!

So her eyes are still blue but sometimes they looks green as they’re yellow in the middle. And sometimes they look grey! 🙂 They’re still really dark unless the sun hits them as you can see in one of the pics!
