Games for a 6-9m old?

Can anyone inspire me, please? DS is 7mo, and I’m a bit short of ideas on what to play with him. We play with his toys, practise standing up holding my hands, peek a boo... but I’m running out of ideas for fun when we’re sat at home!

Just let ‘games’ evolve naturally-try making them laugh with peek-a-boo, banging pots with wooden spoons, throwing balloons. It doesn’t have to be a specific ‘game’ as such

You could try Stacking cups - I would build them up and my DS loved knocking them down. Also the other way up we put ball pool balls on & in for him to take out and put back! He's probably got loads of enjoyment out of them and they were only a couple of pounds!

My son loved treasure baskets at that age. If you google them there are loads of ideas for what to put in them - I used things like a sponge, a silk scarf, a wooden spoon, a metal bowl, a small glass jar with multicoloured buttons, a paintbrush etc.

We used to have fun singing and dancing along to Elvis at that age (Viva las Vegas was a particular hit).

Well, obv I was singing, but ds2 seemed to enjoy it!

Put some old cards in a purse and let him take them all out.

Wear an old pair of sunglasses and let him take them off you over and over again...

Hold him and duck down under a mirror, then come up and say "boo!" when you see yourselves.

Blow bubbles.

Hide a toy under a blanket and see if he can find it.

Get a tray/bowl of water and let him splash his hands in it/dunk some toys.

These were all winners with mine!

Thanks, fabulous MNters! I knew you’d have great ideas! Absolutely, some games have evolved naturally, but I just needed a jumpstart to stop stagnating. Will give these a try tomorrow 😁
