I have a 21 month old and we are going to stay in a villa with a pool in a couple of months (couldn't find a villa without a pool!). We wanted to take her to a pool for the first time this weekend to experience it as she's never been. What is the best thing to buy for her support- arm bands or a ring? I'd be very grateful for any product recommendations. Thank you.

A float suit!
My DS has been using them since he was 10 months and we went in our first holiday when he was 13 months. He still uses his now (age4) and he is extremely confident in the water.
We do swap it for a regular trunks/shorts so he can try to float without the suit and he does very well.

I'm shocked that you've never taken her swimming before and she's nearly 2.

I second a float suit

Are you really? My baby has skin allergies including eczema and we wanted her skin to settle before we took her swimming.

Second a float suit or jacket and maybe a happy happy to go over a swim nappy if she isn't potty trained. You could also try a swim noodle, as that is what seems to used in swimming lessons for little ones here

We didn't take ours swimming until she was 2, she also has sensitive skin. We got her a swim vest and a float she can hold onto, the float (kickboard as they seem to be called now) made a big difference to her confidence in the water.
