Daft question about nappies

Dil is due baby in a couple of months and was going to get them a sack of nappies to start them off. It’s been a long time since I had a baby so I’m a bit lost in how many is enough roughly.
She has more than enough newborn nappies and I’ve got 4 large packs of size 2 and 2 large packs of size 3.

I can’t remember how long they were in size 2 or 3 or how many were roughly used in a day.
While there is some good deals on just now I would like to get some for them.

Thanks

After the first couple of months, we averaged about 4/5 changes a day. Hope that helps!

How long they are in them really depends on how fast they grow. It would be better to get a couple of late packs of each size and then she/ you can top up as you go through them

Dc2 is 14 weeks and just growing out of size 3 if that helps? He is 75th percentile for weight and height and size 4s in my brand start at 15lb.

Yes I’d say maybe 5 nappies a day once past newborn, and DD is 65th percentile and probably moved into size 4 at around 9 months. In fact my mum found a pack of size 3 so I’ve been using them up for daytimes and she still fits in ok and she’s 10.5 months and about 20lb

I’d buy the size 3s and 4s if you want to buy more nappies

DS is 8 weeks and in size 3. He's a chunk though! I'm expecting him to stay in them for a few more weeks though. He was in newborn size for about two weeks, then size 2 until maybe 6 or 7 weeks.

DD was smaller but seemed to get to size 4/5 quickly, but stayed there for quite awhile.

Newborn, maybe 8-10 nappies (my baby only did one poo a day, but some babies do lots!).

After that, about 5?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 03/09/2018 11:27

Can you just wait and get them when they need them? Sounds like a heck of a lot of nappies to store!!

anotherangel2 · 03/09/2018 11:28

Too many nappies to store and not all nappies are the same shape so you may buy one brand and then DIL may find it is not suitable.

Depends on the baby, we were out of size 2 quite early
