My DS is 17 next week. He has never been the type to get excitable but lately he isn't even motivated to do anything....whether it's organising his party or doing chores. The motivation or lack of is the same. He has no interest in hobbies or getting a part time job or going out with friends. He is quite obedient and will do things we tell him but self motivation is zero. He has just got his GCSE'S. ...all good and is set to go to college....but even results day he wasn't bothered about.
He knows he can talk to us about anything and we will support him whatever.
It just seems odd behaviour to me....I couldn't wait to do things, boys, get a job, go out lots etc at his age but he seems totally flat spending each day alone in room
Background....Only child, divorced parents, Dad lives abroad sees about 4x a year. Great relationship with step father. No conflict in house. No real finance problems.
Am I worrying unnecessarily?
