Mastitis without the painful boobs?

Hi ladies,

So, I am feeling really rather unwell, tired, weak, boiling hot temperature with chills, all the flu symptoms. I'm wondering if this could possibly be mastitis however rather than the flu? My boobs aren't really sore though, perhaps a tiny bit tingly and full but barely. Has anybody else had mastitis without the obvious boob symptoms?

Yes it definitely could be. My D has just had the same.

Not trying to be dramatic but a few weeks ago had sepsis and nearly died from untreated mastitis and I never felt pain in my boob at all. Check your heart rate and temp ASAP and get checked ASAP Flowers

My temp hit 40 this morning but a cold bath and paracetamol has made it go down to 37. Just been to the doctors and she checked my temp, breathing/heart, blood pressure etc and just told m to keep taking paracetamol and drinking 🤷🏼‍♀️

How are you feeling?

Yes, you can.
Mastitis caused by blocked ducts is painful and mostly resolved itself with unblocking. Mastitis caused by infection is not painful and needs antibiotics. See another doctor. You need to get on top of it especially looking after a baby (I assume).
