Seeing the doc tomorrow but so upset as i just read impetigo in newborns could be fatal!! Im trying really hard with hygiene but infear its too late as my 4 year old was holding the baby this morning when i had not reised it was impetigo! Just to clarify, the baby doesnt have impetigo yet x

I’ve just googled and I can’t see anything about impetigo being fatal - it says there are rare complications that can arise if the infection isn’t treated, but of course you won’t leave it untreated.

Can you link to the place you found that information?

Here it is xx

Update tho is that baby might have a bit of impetigo behind her ear xxx we saw a doc and he took a swab to check. He said as you have it is very rare for it to be fatal as long as itnis treated, which we are ofcourse doing xxx
