So after a horrendous day yday of baby crying from 3pm to 10pm and lack of help from hubby, I have managed to grab about 3 hours sleep if that on and off during the night and knackered is an understatement..

Anyways about an hour ago in my tired non thinking state I dropped the bottle on the carpet picked it up and continued feeding baby! It was until a minute in I was like oh sh*t and took it out..

Will my baby be OK? I wasn't thinking straight and feel so bloody awful I could cry. Baby is a month old, worst that could be on a carpet is a dog hair or two. I just can't stop freaking out now.

Help!!

3 hours sleep.....
That's why you are worried we all do it we are all muddling through and completely winging motherhood. In a couple of months the baby will be licking the carpet dont worry about it hun just try a get some rest when you can and ask for some help so you can have a nap x

Hi @PixieBob28

I'm no expert, however I too have an almost 4 week old little girl who is constantly surrounded by dog hairs (we have four dogs) and probably more germs than are seen to be acceptable by the clean freaks of today.

To be honest, I wouldn't fret too much. Yes, it's not ideal but a few germs probably aren't going to hurt your DC.

I was brought up around horses and dirt and I've turned out just fine.

Honestly, baby will be fine! Flowers I can remember frantically sterilising everything but once they start crawling they put everything in their mouth anyway, fluff off the carpet! Envy.

Think of it as a nice immune system booster Grin

Oh you poor thing. Don’t beat yourself up about it!
Baby will be fine, we sterilise everything to minimise the chance of any really nasty bugs getting into babies system. My son literally once tried to put my (very patient) dogs tail in his mouth! He’s fine.

As PP has said, baby will be licking the floor in a few months!

Phillipa12 · 22/08/2018 06:15

And not just the floor.........the windows, the furniture, the dogs water bowl 😂😁.

spugzbunny · 22/08/2018 13:06

Honestly there's nothing to worry about! Soon enough baby will be putting every grubby thing in their mouth! We don't live in a sterile world so please don't be worried!

Oh bless you, I remember this stage with horror, everything was so anxiety-inducing! Rest assured there's nothing my DD hasn't put in her mouth and she's a very happy and healthy 6 month old!
