I am due to have my second in the next few weeks and my eldest will be just under 2. A few people have mentioned for me to have a box of activities to do with my toddler whilst I am breastfeeding the newborn and to keep those activities for breastfeeding only.

Can anyone give me ideas of age-appropriate activities for my older one? Most people I know in person have a 3-3.5yr age gap and my daughter isn't ready for the activities they used with their children.

TIA

A big tub of farm animals is always good.

Another thing that's handy are those magnetic drawing things where the pen is attached by a string and you swipe it to erase it. Like a cheap version of an etch a sketch. There's a paw patrol one doing the rounds at the moment. I think I saw it in Tesco? Not sure. At (even younger than) 2 they can erase it themselves so you don't have to do much.

Prepare yourself for a lot of cbeebies. I had 2 under 2 during the winter and it was a lifesaver.

Thanks! Will look into the animals as she loves animals in general right now.

We already have a magnetic drawing pad and aqua doodle, both of which she loves but Im thinking she may not be interested in them while I'm feeding as the novelty will have worn off with her playing with them all this time already.

Cbeebies was also my saviour in the days of morning sickness and first trimester exhaustion!
