Emotional 3yr old about to get a sibling

We have a 3 yr old (4 in October) and I am 8 months pregnant. She's been very excited to get a sister and wants to share her toys and help out with her nappies and baths. She's a very happy child (not just our opinion, her nursery say this all the time) but very empathetic, she is very easily distracted if a friend is upset for example.
This week she's been very emotional, crying and getting upset or angry over very small things. Tonight while playing role play with her dad she said her dad had to act sad and when he pretended to cry she became inconsolable. It was nearly bedtime so she was tired but it took an hour to calm her down, she didn't wanr her dad near her and when I was telling her I loved her she got upset again and said that had made her sad. So, could this be related to the arrival of her sister in a few weeks? Is it a developmental thing? What can I do to help her? We do lots of one on one things and she has a lot of autonomy.
