Loose poo, having a nightmare!

Hi. I have been using Kushies nappies and up to this point had no problems with them. Now DD poos are loose and it keeps going onto the actual nappy rather than just staying on the liner, this is causing me problems and is very messy.

Also im finding the Kushies are not fitting her aswell around the legs and sometimes she is wet on her clothes, she is still in the weight limit of the nappies.

Anyone have any advice please? Thanks

Not much advice about the kushies, I just find the prefold system not very good at keeping loose poo of the wrap bit. Again with it being a velcro faten the fit can be poor if your LO has slim legs and a chubbier baby tummy You may just have to ride it out, if there is no improvement a shaped nappy will help with the loose poos (but obviously this is going to be an expense that you will not have bargined for) and a popper wrap. A Bummis wrap works well with a prefold and they do have popper ones

If you already have them, try going up a size, sometimes it helps the fit even if she's still within the size range.

Try a separate loose booster in the Kushies which may stop them leaking. Unfortunately one disadvantage of all in ones is that you can't mix and match the nappy and the wrap. In this case (the leaking part) you could use a different style wrap until she changed shape again, you see.

I always recommend a variety of brands as some nappies fit better at different stages and shapes so having just one brand isn't always the best way forward. Therefore if you haven't already bought your next size nappies I'd consider a mix of different ones.

Incidentally I'm assuming you are using the Kushies all in ones? I'm confused with Snugglebum mentioning prefolds.

Going back to the poo problem, this is quite normal, but what problems are you having? What I mean is, paper liners often don't catch all the poo and some goes onto the nappy itself. Usually it tips off or just needs a quick sluice in the loo. This is not a Kushies problem - it will happen with every brand. Do you need some ideas as to how to handle pooey nappies?

Hi. thanks for replying. I am using Kushies all in ones. I opted for these as I have a very wriggly baby and thought this was the best option as only one layer to put on! I brought them secondhand and didn't really want to spend out on more nappies. I have a few shaped nappies and terries and I must admit they fit better at the mo but I don't have enough to last a couple of days. I haven't been as good with the reusables lately because it's so stressful if she has a poo and her new thing is to scratch her 'bits' when the nappy is off so you can just imagine! Yes i would like some advice on how to deal with pooey nappies please Thanks.
