My daughter is addicted with KPop

My 17-year old is addicted to Kpop. She even wanted to learn Korean language! She sings every day, not even sure what the songs are all about. I don’t know if it’s a good thing or not but it’s annoying me! A foreign language is not bad to learn but having to deal with it everyday in a nonsense way is a big NO for me! I am also sure that you guys here have the same dilemma. How do I deal well with my daughter?

Erm. She’s 17. Leave her to it? It’s great that she wants to learn another language. Kudos to her. Would you feel differently if she was into Drake, or heavy rock? It might just be a phase.

Is it affecting her life negatively? Is she spending time on it that she should be spending on studying? Or is the only reason you don’t like it because you don’t understand it and it annoys you? If it’s the latter then leave her to it, she’s entitled to her own interests.

Why do you need to do anything? Unless it's affecting her education or employment, let her get on with it- how can having interests and learning another language be a bad thing?

Also, singing is v good- physically for the body, but also emotionally, for mental well-being.

You're annoyed with your daughter because she has different tastes in music?

Wow.
