FGS, Babies, you've had a nice life if you're able to get so worked up over a colour.

SoupDragon · 03/06/2007 21:06

Nothing wrong with girly, Expat but girly does not = pink.

BabiesInBedsGalore · 03/06/2007 21:06

like dragon said; pink does not = girly, nor other way round.

actually nothing wrong with it.... just my experenice of little princess's is that they are sometimes little brats

BabiesInBedsGalore · 03/06/2007 21:07

im not worked up.

expatinscotland · 03/06/2007 21:07

For some people, though, it does, Soupy.

Some people like it. DD1 does, and I never made a conscious effort with regards to colours I dressed her in.

Rather happy just to put her in anything given to her as couldn't afford many clothes back then.

Now, she choses pink. Well, on you go then, DD1.

It's her body, not mine.

babies,i think you need to calm down about it.it's just a colour.it doesn't mean anything, really my dd has loads of pink.i'm not gonna stop her from wearing it.so you think you can judge me to be an arsehole and tell me my dd is gonna be pregnant at 15??

BabiesInBedsGalore · 03/06/2007 21:10

pink isnt just a colour tho, is it? it represents ever so much more than a colour, or any other colour for that matter.

but i cant be bothered to argue, so im off now... need to spend some time with dp

Otter · 03/06/2007 21:11

get down zara when she is older soupy - they dont do the pink thing

i have bought red shoes for DD when she was small and i can honestly say - i am shoe and fashion mad and she has never had pink!

'Like parenting isn't difficult enough without being made to feel like a tosser for dressing you child in a colour which tbh suits her. '

Or that your child choses herself.

Otter · 03/06/2007 21:15

no look HERE soupy

Idobelieveinfairies · 03/06/2007 21:17

I have to say this post is confusing me!

is 'pink' 'girly' and 'princess' gonna be added to the fruit shoot and sausage roll rule???

seriously, i can't see the problem. (with pink, girly or princess).

sorry

(i will come back for support from you guys when my girly pink princess turns into a brat)(and yes you can tell me 'we told you so')

expatinscotland · 03/06/2007 21:21

Yes, fairies, we're supposed to be dour-faced lentil weavers who go on holidays abroad and only feed the kids water and homemade rice cakes.

It's NOT okay to have the opinion that you find it wrong to leave your kids in a hotel whilst you swan off for dinner with your husband - that's low and putting the boot in - but it's okay to tell people their kids are total brats who will end up pregnant at 15 or condemned to being a Stepford Wife all because of a fucking colour

Otter · 03/06/2007 21:22

i just want a girl to put in those shoes

i have a girl and she is a love but they wont fit her

my baby has those shoes but in orange

i just need a girl to put in those ...all plain....with flowers....

TaylorsMummy · 03/06/2007 21:22

lol, so true, expat

nightowl · 03/06/2007 21:23

pmsl at the thought that i could control what my dd wears. i thought, when having a girl she would be dressed always in co-ordinating, pretty girly things.

yeah right.

last week she went out in pink wellies, pink trousers, a beige winter coat and a lemon and white checked sunhat. i had nothing to do with this. no say in it whatsoever.

My dad always said 'Pick your battles!'

Now I know, the clothes she choses to wear isn't one of them.

Got bigger fish to fry.

Consider yourselves lucky, folks, if that's even among your 'concerns'.

[rolls eyes]

TaylorsMummy · 03/06/2007 21:24

oh,i love primigi,my dd has had them before

SoupDragon · 03/06/2007 21:26

No Startright here, bizarrely. BabyDragon + white shoes, let me think...

SoupDragon · 03/06/2007 21:27

BabyDragon can have pink when she buys her clothes herself. But she will never, ever be a princess. Unless she marries into Royalty.

Otter · 03/06/2007 21:27

i am just lovin Expat atm
