You can get a 'Baby, I'm Bored' one - can't remember where.

Idobelieveinfairies · 03/06/2007 20:28

Ok people, i have seen the matching 'princess on board' sunshades around now, are they acceptable as they are serving a purpose????

BabiesInBedsGalore · 03/06/2007 20:29

if i ever have a girl (and how dare you forbid it) she will be highly unlikely to be dressed in pink until she can afford her own clothes. acksherly.

The accepted story about the origin of these signs is not quite true...

Otter · 03/06/2007 20:32

nothing with princess on is ever acceptable

LadyMacbeth · 03/06/2007 20:33

Babies, I wasn't saying god forbid you should ever have a girl (blimey!!) I was saying god forbid you should ever have a girl who has a fierce determination to wear pink every day!!

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding!

You wait though - the pink will come seeping in to her wardrobe little by little... (mwah hah hah!)

BabiesInBedsGalore · 03/06/2007 20:35

Never!!!

i shall forbid it. and withold food if she dares mention it!!

Idobelieveinfairies · 03/06/2007 20:35

Why otter? what is wrong with the word princess...i am definately missing something here. I can see that the signs are pointless, but what is wrong with the word princess?

SoupDragon · 03/06/2007 20:36

In my mind, "princess" is interchangable with "spolit little brat".

lilymolly · 03/06/2007 20:37

I sort of agree with otter here, whilst my dd is my absolute pride and joy, I would never call her a princess.

My experience of little girls called "princess" is that they are little madams who rule the roost

lilymolly · 03/06/2007 20:38

x posts soup dragon

SoupDragon · 03/06/2007 20:39

But you said it rather more tactfully

Idobelieveinfairies · 03/06/2007 20:40

So if i was to buy something for my dd with princess on she would turn into a spoilt brat?....haha

excellent!

lilymolly · 03/06/2007 20:41

yes

lovemybed · 03/06/2007 20:42

my dd2 had a t shirt when she was 1 that said "i did not ask to be a princess....but if the crown fits" i loved it, my dh calls both dd's princess and i dress them head to toe in pink all the time

LadyMacbeth · 03/06/2007 20:42

I remember a man telling me that he had just bought his "Princess" a pink Jeep for her seventeenth birthday... it meant that among many other things he had to sacrifice the family holiday for it.

"But what can you do" mooned he.. "she twists me round her little finger."

Yeah right

BabiesInBedsGalore · 03/06/2007 20:42

yup. she would do exactly that if you had a 'youre my little princess' attitude (and therefore bought the princess crapola for her.

well, you asked!

Idobelieveinfairies · 03/06/2007 20:43

i'm gonna give it a try, what about 'fairy princess' is that even worse??? what will happen????

lilymolly · 03/06/2007 20:43

can I just add, I am a real tom boy so cant imagine dd ever wanting princessy things or pink things, but watch this space...........

softmusk · 03/06/2007 20:43

mumemma · 03/06/2007 20:44

Idobelieveinfairies · 03/06/2007 20:44

After 6 boys my dd has pink everything. And she just loves the princess' (snow white etc)

I am DOOMED!!!!!!

BabiesInBedsGalore · 03/06/2007 20:44

ewww LadyM. and i bet she spent her whole life trying to find a man jusr like daddy to marry. bleeeuuurgh

SoupDragon · 03/06/2007 20:45

Oooh, Filly... I got BabyDragon a cream T shirt with a pink glittery monkey on it and the phrase "cheeky monkey". I was delighted I'd been tempted to get her a boy on because she is a cheeky monkey. She's no princess, that's for sure.

Otter · 03/06/2007 20:45

do people care?
