What do you do with your 8mo

Hi all

I have a beautiful 8mo little girl who is extremely active and does not want to sit still. I've hit a bit of a brick wall in ideas of what to do with her and I feel like I'm wasting most of our day as I'm not maximising our playtime.

Things we do together:

sing songs/dance around in my arms
play with toys in her enormous play pen (limited entertainment for us both!!)
help her stand up and down (constantly at the moment...)
peekaboo in various part of the house
reading books (she's really not interested in this at the moment...usually bounces off immediately and I'm shouting the words of the story after her as she retreats!)
I've just bought a tiny little blow up pool so we'll have some water play outside if it gets warm again

We do go to the park and go to classes etc but I'm specifically struggling with how to best play with her in the house, so I'm stimulating her and helping her development etc.

Any ideas please? I feel like I'm slowly going under!

Thanks everyone

Put toys out on the floor and just let her explore and play at her own pace.

Sounds like you are doing more than enough already.

Also mine at that age were happy with a box of things they could just pull out. At 10 months DS is still happiest when he has a box to have a good rumage through.

yes I do try and encourage independent play as well..she does it very reluctantly with a little moan until I come back!
