Baby carriers

Not sure if this is the right place but I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a baby carrier for my husband to use? He is about 6 foot 3 and 19st so we need something quite robust. Our baby is also quite big at 16lb at 16 weeks. I have a fabric one and it's just not big enough for him to use. TIA

There is a huge choice of buckle carrier and they are all adjustable. To find out which is the most comfortable he will need to try out a few at a sling library.

We liked The Manduca

Rose & rebellion are great and can be used to age 5 from birth

Kibbi is one my 6"7 DH and I can both use, happily still slinging my 1yo 20+ lb dd

hi, there might be some useful advice here, but essentially id recommend getting to a sling meet where you can try out several carriers, or hire one if dad cant make it along.

We've just got an ergo for our 5 month old and love it.

Baby bjorn 'one' is great and has buckles that go round your tummy which gives extra support.

I don’t use our ergo as it’s too wide for me and the straps fall off my shoulders - so might be great for someone with a bigger frame!

We have a ergo, dh is 6' and I'm 5'2 and works well on us both.

My partner (6’1 and 17.5 stone) has worn both a connecta and a boba carrier no problems. I think he slightly prefers the connecta, but both were fine. Just needed quite a lot of adjustment from me to him and back again! I would highly recommend getting to a sling library or meet if there’s one you can get to. You’ll be able to try different ones out and you can take them home to trial too.

I love our connecta (still use it with 23lb 11month old) so if that’s good for bigger bodies too I’d highly recommend. Comfy, strong, secure and packs away lovely and small.

We just got a Tula and it's great, very sturdy. We had to move from our Connecta as my ds basically outgrew it so got the toddler version, but the Free to Grow was great too
