Help!**** Clarithromycin

Has anyone of you ladies been put on clarithromycin during pregnancy? Please let me know! Did it affect you or the baby? 💕

I do take Clarithromycin sometimes OP but can’t remember being prescribed it during PG. Did the Dr take you through the possible side effects and alternatives?

No she didnt. I went home and looked it up myself on google (stupidly) however I am allergic to peneccilin and amoxicillin that is why I could have those antibiotic. I have tonsillitis quite bad on the right side on my tonsils, when I looked in the mirror this morning it has spread to my left side. So I had no choice but to start my course this morning. However inside I am still panicking, just trying to keep my cool and stop stressing. I have spoken to a few pregnant women and moms on a few pregnant forums and a few have said they have been on Clarithromycin and have been fine, both themselves and the baby. I just want as many opinions as I can get right now!

Presumably your doctor knew you were pregnant when they prescribed them?

If so, then you'll be fine.

(You might want to drink a probiotic drink with them as they can upset your tummy)
