Would like to get dd a first words book. There are so many to choose from. Can anyone recommend one their dc really liked?

check out the Book People's website - they have some great forst word board books for kids. My DD had a set of outdoor words/shopping words/teatime words/animal etc - which she loved. They are from the Usborne Babies Library, illustrated by Sue Stitt so maybe look at the Usborne Books site too - there maybe someone in your area having a book a party.

I recommend the Red House Books website, as this is helpfully divided up into age categories. It might also be worth having a look at the Bookstart website, as they have information and links that are useful.
