What's your breastfeeding ritual?

I'm curious to know your rituals and habits when settling down to feed, both night and day.

Do you watch TV in the daytime only?
Do you have lights on at night?
Do you talk to or sing to your baby?
What snacks/meals do you eat while feeding?

I spend time talking to and singing to baby but I also read books on my phone or mumsnet! Or research baby things on the net! Daytime I usually have TV on even if I'm not properly watching it! At night in dark room n just sitting quietly. At any time if my partner is around we chat.
Foodwise anything I can eat one handed!! I always try and have snacks and bottle if water next to me on sofa along with phone and TV remote controls!

At night - dark, lying down in bed. No need for anybody to wake up any more than they have to.

I only got away with watching tv until about 8 weeks. After that they were too distracted by it.

Snacks - anything you can eat one handed. Never sit down to feed in the early weeks without a fresh cup of tea, bottle of water, sweet and savoury snacks. Also go to the loo. You might be there for hours! Grin

During the day.... tv is on... usually a film! He will fed on and off as much as he likes... I try and keep food and drink close to me. He usually feeds for half hour maximum but is on and off a lot!!! Gives me time to grab a kit Kat or run to the loo!

Night time is hard, he will feed, scream, throw up then get hiccups! He usually feeds for 10-20 mins then sleeps but does this every 3 hours ish! Exhausting!! 🙄
I usually read a book on my phone at night or something on Netflix on my phone so it's still darkish, too much light he wakes right up!!

Breast feeding is hard!! Xx

Not bfeeding anymore but in the early days especially I needed to have a drink next to me as it was like as the baby latched my mouth would go so dry.

Usually I’d be on my phone whilst feeding Blush we had a nightlight in our room so I could see to latch, I never really got the hang of lying down feeding.

Also for the early days I kept a stash of oat cereal bars because many mornings we’d wake up, start feeding and I’d be trapped and starving!

Fed at night in bed with lights off - never got up once. He learned the difference between night and day really early on.

During the day I usually read or look on phone. Don't like to watch TV. And always have lots of snacks and water!
