why do you feel so sad about it?

Think its that she has grown so quick. It is completely irrational i know and could kick myself as usually so together and organsied but in this one area can not function normally

It's hard to suddenly realise your littleone is growing up, and leaving some of those baby days behind. But you and your LO have some amazing adventures ahead of you . I can vividly remember my darling godaughters first birthday, and both me and her mum were choking back the tears when everyone started singing Happy Birthday . Don't feel bad....she'll always be your baby

aww, she is still just a baby though. wait til the second birthday, that's a real shocker lol.

what do you think you'd like to do? we just had a few friends over and a party lunch and cake, was quite nice.
let people figure out their own presents, much nicer that way

Hi Kerrie, I know exactly where you are coming from, my dd is 10months old now and I cant believe how its flown by! I am sooo proud of her and all the things she has learnt to do and cant wait for the next bit - walking, talking etc, but a part of me misses my tiny little baby, who slept on my chest and was happy to cuddle and coo all day!
Guess thats what parenting is all about! my mum still thinks of my little sister as her baby and she's 24 now!!
Sorry I cant help, just wanted to let you know you arent alone!

erm...have another baby?

Will never forget DD1s 1st birthday, a friend of DPs came and played the cello to a little group of tinies who were agog...!

Also, i made a big butterfly out of card and put it on her cake because her fav book was 'The hungry caterpillar' and we've kept the butterfly which is on her bedroom wall now.

My dd is 1 in a couple of weeks to. I feel all emotional as well, so you are not the only one. I would like to get dd a charm bracelet from me, so if anyone has any ideas then let me know.
