due dc2 soon and want a decent one.

had a breastfeeding nightmare with dc1 and had a tommee tippee manual one which was rubbish.

i quite fancy an electic one but dont quite fancy the price tag

Hi there,

We've noticed this thread is quite old and some of the product recommendations are out of date. We recently spent three months researching and testing the most highly recommended breast pumps on the market to find which ones offer the best value for parents.

Read our round up of the 10 best breast pumps available in the UK to find out which electric, manual and silicone breast pumps made the grade.

Hope that helps,

MNHQ

I use a spectra and I love it. I used a Mandela from the hospital and that was also good but I think the spectra is better value for money IMO

I got an avent electric pump from Amazon and it wasn't too much. I got it when they had a deal on as I didn't want to spend a lot as I knew it probably wouldn't get used a lot. I have found that it is very good and works fine for what I need.

I have this one from amazon after my medela swing broke. Honestly I was so dubious but I use it twice a day and it's great! For the price (£36.99), it's fab!

I keep hearing really good things about the Haaka. It's also a good price. It's designed more to be used when you're feeding on the other side than if you're having serious problems though but might be worth a look? I don't think it existed when I had DS1.

I'm not planning to get one this time, I think if I need one in hospital I'll use one of theirs and then if I need something at home I'll order it later on next day delivery as I'll have a better idea of what I'll need (manual/electric/etc).
