Sling holds/positions

DD is 7wks today and isn't keen on being put down. That's fine for one handed tasks but I'm struggling now DS is off school!

Anyway I've been given one of those long fabric slings to try. I've watched a few videos and have the basic one down however DD is far too nosy and as soon as she's held upright (head on my chest) she pushes her head back to look around. I have to hold her head to support it which obviously defies the object of the sling!

Are there any other holds I can try? Or tips so I can actually be hands free pls?

If it helps, her favourite position to be held/carried is across me with her head in the crook of my left arm. If she's held up, she'll always push back down there!

Bump.

I found the cradle hold today but my sling doesn't have the rings.

Have tried both positions but the sling gets looser and she's getting lower and lower. Doesn't feel v secure!

Have you tried the hug hold? Mobybwrap has some good videos on YouTube. Plus use a muslin as a headrest (also shown)

Yes that's what I meant by the basic hold! I'll try the muslin. Atm I don't know what all the fuss is with slings!
