Child tax question.

So we already claim child tax for DD1 and we rang today to add DD2 (11 days old) to the claim. How long does it take them to process this? Does your current claim stop and then restart again once second child is added? Also how long does it take to hear back from child benefit? We did the forms when we registered the birth and they send them off for you. Thank you x

I think tax credits was around 6 weeks and child benefit may have been slightly less .

Was that a new claim or adding an extra child? X
