Do you stick to the same bedtime routines during school hols ??

In term time mine go to bed 8pm and are up at 7am.

In the hols I generally let them stay up util 9 and they will then normally lie in until 8 or 9.

Only problem is, today they have driven me nuts, but non of them are tired as they weren't up until 9, so if I put them to bed now, they won't sleep.

I try to do same ( just getting milk ready for 2 year old I should really be upstairs reading to them!!)
my 5 year old has been staying up a bit later than usual - maybe 30 min extra

any chance of reading books in bed, or listening to some storytapes to wind them down?

NuttyMuffins · 30/05/2007 19:28

I did suggest a story but they argued about which to have so i said forget it.

Mind you they are quiet again now for five minutes. Dd1 is writing, Dd2 is reading and Ds is on the sofa talking to himself.

all routine goes AWOL during the holidays - I forgot to give my children lunch today and gave them some pineapple at 3pm before I realised!

(they did have a late breakfast)

Ahhh at least I am not the only one then.

Am going to do them some hot choc in a mo and then they can go up and reaxd in bed.

It's best to stick to the same but we don't always manage it.

I certainly want them upstairs and out of the way at a reasonable time.
