9 month old will not go to sleep

My DS has always been a fantastic sleeper. But the past week has been utterly nightmarish.

He’s recently learned to stand up in his cot, and is crawling and being very active in the day.

Every time I put him into his cot at night time or for a nap he starts screaming... and this goes on for about an hour and a half.

I’ve tried leaving him to it and going in every 5 minutes, I’ve tried staying in the room with him, I’ve tried repeating his bed time cues, tying a t shirt that smells like me to his cot but nothing works

I’m trying to stay away from picking him up as when I put him down again, he screams more.

Co sleeping isn’t an option for me as my boyfriend comes back at the weekend and there’s no room and i don’t wanna get DS used to something that can’t be all the time...

I’m pulling my hair out here, what do I do 😩😩😩

Sounds like the 9 month sleep regression OP. It will get better, until it does I think you might have to go with it. Have you tried putting a mattress on his floor and sleeping with him there?

Hi OP. My now nearly 11mo was the same a couple months back. Standing in his cot absolutely exhausted but not wanting to sleep. I just extended bed time by an hour tbh. Waited for him to be practically asleep in my arms before popping him in his cot. I can’t offer much advice but it does get better as now I’m finding DS is using up so much energy during the day and filling up on solids more that he is knackered come bed time and going down about half 7 again
