My son who’s 5 has been living with his paternal grandmother and dad for the last 2 1/2 years due to me being in a dv relationship.
Iv recently been re housed after sofa surfing and working cash in hand jobs. I’m in supported housing not made for people under the age of 18.

Monday the 7th of this month my son was playing outside and the neighbour took him to Croydon without telling us. Police were called and I was forced to hang up. Phone taken off me by the grandmother and her friend

The Friday after I removed him as he was going to be allowed out over the weekend again unsupervised. Iv been fighting a sgo order that the grandmother has applied for, the court said as iv not had paperwork and no one has bothered regardless of my calls and emails to re asses me parenting wise they will re asses October.

He’s currently with my mum but we have a VERY bad relationship. She’s already gone from promising I can stay every other weeekend to I’m not aloud in the house.

My question is
Do I take him to my local council and deal with temp housing for a while, settle him into a new school ext

Or do I leave him at my mums, have him settle there then up root him when I sort a flat?

I’m just torn any advice would help

I am a little confused?

Is the grandmother that you keep talking about your Mum? Or is it another Grandmother? Why was your 5 year old playing outside unsupervised? Why/how did the Grandmother force you to hang up?

You need legal advice about getting your child returned to your care. For now you need to increase your visits and work on getting a job.

You need legal advice OP. Talk to Rights of Women about getting your son back and Shelter about your housing.

Have you got a Social Worker you can talk to as well?

Is there a Court Order in place regarding who he lives with too?
