Long lost son

Hi all, I`m new on here and would like some advice, please.
I have just gotten into contact with a son whom I lost contact with due to being away with HM forces, He is now 25yrs old and has two little ones (my grandchildren) we are about to arrange to meet up for the 1st time in over 20yrs but I am obviously nervous and don't know what relation my kids are to my grandkids. can anyone help, please? Erm. Uour kids Uncles and aunts to your grandkids!

Not sure I understand either but let’s say you had a son, moved away, lost touch with him and his other parent. Then you had more kids in another relationship (?? I’m guessing).
So your second set of children are half brother/sister to your first son. And they are half uncle/aunt to your first son’s children.
I guess you need to be ready to answer questions about how and why you lost touch, and you need to decide if you are committed to building a long term relationship with your son, and then find out if he wants the same. Small presents for the grandchildren maybe, if you know what age they are?

I'm guessing you're male, you were in the forces and he was 5 last time you saw him? Good luck for meeting up. I reiterate above the relationship with your other kids.
