Cot bed recommendations?

Hello, my ds is nearly 7 months and is outgrowing the co-sleeping cot in our room. I’d like to start trying to move him to his own room, so I need to buy a cot.

Please could I ask for any cot bed recommendations? Are the Ikea ones good? Are any terrible and to be avoided? I don’t want to spend an awful lot, but I do want something solid and comfortable that will last him a few years.

Thank you!

We recently bought one from mothercare was called the Stretton I think? For around £200 but mattress worth £90 was included for free. They are usually quite good at having a deal on if you get it at the right time etc. It seems like really good quality and no complaints so far. The bed drops in 3 stages depending on age which is handy. Doesn’t have drop down sides so maybe have a think about what you would prefer? Can’t comment on any else sorry!

We got ours from mothercare (I don't think they make that one anymore), but it's been great. They are much better quality than the IKEA ones (which are fine, but not great, we have one of those as well that we used for co-sleeping with the side off). The mothercare one has lasted for 5 years with our first and now is on to number 2 and in great shape.

We got the cot and mattress from kiddicare and it has been great! The base lowers as the child gets older and then when time to change from cot to bed, the base is really low so no worry about her falling out! I think the cot itself was around £99 and I could not fault it.
