Swapover

I left my sons dad a year ago, the last few weeks the swapover from one parent (the parent who sees him once a week to the other) has gone disastrously.

My little one has got so upset, his dad doesn't help by agreeing to whatever he says. Instead of leaving quickly my ex thinks if he sticks around it will help - actually it doesn't it makes it agony for everyone involved. My son gets so upset, it's now the summer holidays so there will be one of the swapover every week, I don't know what to do I'm at my wits end

How old is your son Lrobin1? these changeovers can be so hard, I have 3 boys and for a long while each of them (13, 10 and 4 so all at v different developmental stages) found the transition back home after seeing dad for the weekend very difficult.

He's 5 it's so hard for him it's hard for everyone involved but it's awful when he lashes out at me as his dad agrees or says anything without thought to what's agreed or how it'll effect my son later
