Window guard

Does anyone use a window guard?
In my dc bedroom the windows open out from the bottom and the locks don't work.

Thanks to the lay out of the room I can avoid (just) putting cots/beds next to the window but there is no way to avoid furniture at the windows. 1yo is now getting good at climbing and starting to climb up to window. It's filling me with anxiety. I don't think dc will take late to be out cot and I can't leave them alone in the bedroom for any length of time anymore.

I rent the property so limited to what I can drill etc into the window. Searching high and low for some form of pressure fit guard to prevent falls out the window.
Any suggestions?

Get the landlord to fix the locks or tell him you're going to fit a child safety device even if it involves drilling. It's not worth the risk.

I had the same problem and just got the window handle replaced with new lock - about £50 by a locksmith but worth the peace of mind and maybe your landlord would do it? I think you can do it a lot cheaper if you can DIY?
