Hello

Ok so my little man won’t drink his milk anymore been going off it since I started him on solids at 5 and a half months I mix it with his porridge in a morning and eats yogurt too .. he has been eating 3 meals a day ( 7months+ jars) as well as home made and snacks but the last 2/3 days he’s really gone off his food could he be teething ? Any advice on how to get him drinking milk again ?

Thank you

Perhaps your baby is finding milk a bit too filling in top of solids? Do you offer straight after a meal or in between like a 'snack'?

By the way, you might get a bit more traffic on this post if you ask for it to be moved to a better location. Lots of people don't like this 'ask me anything' section and won't look at it.

Hello :)

thank you for your reply sorry I'm new to this so I don't know how to ask them to move it and wasn't sure where to post.

I've tried holding out on breakfast and giving him a bottle 1st and porridge later but he just turns his head Sad and the same at night or if I try in between meals

I've reported the thread for you to ask mnhq to move it to parenting for more traffic.

Do you offer him water or any other drinks?

Yes he drinks water and juices fine just not milk

I wouldn't give a seven month old juice there is absolutely no need, stick to water. They also don't need jars of baby food, just offer him what you're having and let him learn. He'll probably eat less than being spoonfed purée which will give him more appetite for milk and also help him learn skills like pincer grip and will use his jaw muscles more (important for speech development).

My DS is seven months too :)

(Btw ignore the comments about giving him jars, you clearly state you are giving him a mix of things. It's fine to take a mixed approach to weaning)

My son went off his milk a few weeks ago, for no apparent reason. He'd only just started eating at that point, so I was fairly sure it wasn't because he was full from food. He'd take a few sips and then seem disinterested. I just followed his lead and it lasted maybe a week?

He's just had a tooth come through today Smile. The not drinking milk coincided with grumpiness so I suspect it might have been a bit sore on his gums! He's been fine the past week so the sore bit for him was clearly before it actually poked through the gum.

How much milk is he drinking a day? Perhaps he was drinking loads before and he's just dropped down to a more normal amount? Both my boys were real milk monsters until they were 6 months and then the milk gradually tailed off till they were only having 3/4 bottles a day.
