Can I give my baby water?

My lb is 4m and is ff. In Scotland were in the 30s and its really really hot. My lb sweats a lot on a normal day never mind this heat and I was told by my HV I could give him some cooled boiled water, but how much in one day? My HV isn't working today and the office closes at 4pm and I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone else. I bought some hipp organic baby juice for 4m+ too but again have no idea how much I can give him on days like this...

Absolutely give him some water in a bottle. He will drink as much as he wants. Judy make sure that he's not substituting water for milk.

Skip the juice and as above, make sure they still have their usual amount of milk. They won't take much extra (if any!) maybe an oz or two.

Defintely don’t give the juice, the nhs don’t recommend it. I have no idea how they get away with selling it if I’m honest.

If you read the formula carton you may find that you can add an extra ounce of water to the bottle if there’s a risk of dehydration.

Make sure you feed him first, but in between feeds you can give him water. I used to put a little bit of Ribena in, just to give it a bit of flavour (I'm talking a teaspoonful to a 6oz bottle).
