is it just my life or is it when your mum or dad meets someone else and gets married, that person is always nicey nice to you until them and your parent have a child of there own. My step father was and still is a nasty man to me. i never understood why my mum never stuck up for me when he would be mean and not let me have anything like the younger siblings would have(his new kids)
I ended up a single parent with my own child, and i always made sure my new partner was on the understanding that if he ever treated my child any different if we had kids of our own i would divorce him,
my mum and me no longer speak and i dont see my siblings from her new marriage at all as my step father made sure of that.
I never had any relationship with my own father either as he was just a flirt with the ladies and never cared about me.
