7 Year old still sometimes wets her pants a little

My dd still holds her wee in when she’s busy doing something, by the time we get her to a toilet some has already came out. She’s not scared of going, just would rather do what’s she doing instead of going. Before we go out or she goes to bed we always makes sure she goes to the toilet first.

I share your angst - and my DS is 11! He has got better with age, but it is constant reminders from me before we ever do anything or go anywhere! One thing that has helped slightly as he is now so old is that he has to help with the washing - sort it into piles, put into the washing machine, hang it out etc; and this seems to have made him think about the consequences of dirty washing a little more!

Dd1 was still having regular accidents at 7. Days out seemed to be a constant rush to a toilet.
She was seeing a specialist who said she had an immature bladder, basically as soon as there was anything in her bladder it was telling her brain she needed to wee now. If she tried to hold it she would leak.

The main tips were
Not to restrict drinks
Getting her to drink a full drink in one go rather than sipping at drinks
Avoiding red and brown drinks
Getting her to hold on for gradually increasing amounts of time.

I honestly thought she would be wetting herself forever but she’s now 12 and fine (although I’ve just toilet trained dd2 so my days of running to the nearest loo are not yet over)

I think this is still fairly normal at 7.

Have you had her checked by your GP for any infections or constipation?

Don't have a kid that old yet (oldest is 2) but I do remember having occasional accidents until I was closer to 9 maybe even 10. Not like every day but once in a while. It was of course a million times more humiliating then.

Although if you count the time I had a dream I was on the toilet and wet the bed I had accidents into my late teens! Every time I am super tired and on the toilet I am paranoid it's a dream toilet.
