Feeding less?

Hi All,

I just wanted to get some opinions before my little girls next weigh in this thursday...

My daughter is a month old this Friday and I've noticed in the last two days she's not finishing her bottles and isn't waking up as often as she did. Until now she's been on 120ml and demands every 2-3 hours. She has in fairness gone hours longer several times and of course isn't consistent this early on but for example she only woke up for one feed last night and again at 6am today, in comparison to 2-3 night feeds before. Today she's had 2 feeds since 6am and grazed on the last one. She's also not fully finishing bottles now too.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I know every day can be different, different factors such as being tired etc may play a part but just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else?

We have been finding she struggles with wind and was using Infacol / she also wasn't so regular with poos although she has gone daily for the past 4 days. It varies but when feeding she cries for it and puts hands in mouth (a dummy doesn't satisfy) and sometimes she will seem like she's struggling to take the bottle and will since a bit as though she's had enough, but will continue to want to feed if we let her.

All very conflicting info so struggling to know what's what with her ATM.

Any thoughts would be welcome!

Im having the same problem with my daughter who is 1 month old today. HV told me not to worry if she gaining weight and doing wet and dirty nappies. i just feed her on demand whenever she wants something. Im struggling with trapped wind aswell im trying to not use medication as prefer natutal route but do give infacol in the night and have just invested in some gripe water to try. Not sure if the heat is affecting there feeding? I go clinic Monday so will ask again what they say. And keep following your thread to see if any other mummies have advise

Thanks for the reply. Typically she seems to have picked up last night / today and seems to have spent more time awake too. I've spoke to a few people and they have mentioned that sleeping a lot might usually follow with a growth spurt around that time so could be a possibly. Also a couple of people mentioned about the teets for her bottle, I didn't know this but as babies get bigger they suck less and you can then get level 2, and so on, teet sizes which help the baby to get the milk easier. I am told this is usually when they are older than a month but every baby is different and have known friends who moved babies onto the level 2 teet sizes at this time.

Thanks for keeping me posted! X
