just popped round to a friend of mines for a quick coffee, kids in tow as I needed to give her something. As we went to leave her dd aged 3 said that my ds1, nearly 6, and my ds2, nearly 4 showed her their willies. Now i felt really embaressed, as my ds1 does know better and whilst he is constantly showing his sisters he knows its not the done thing elsewhere. So I raised my voice a bit (didn't quite shout) told him i was disappointed and that it was inapproproate. Wwell that was the calm me anyway, got in the car and i shouted at him and told him how cross i was and told both boys they were going home and straight to bed. They both accepted this and went to bed, a bit teary, so I gave them a cuddle and a kiss and explained that its not really very nice to show other children your willies etc. Thing is I'm not sure if I've overreacted a bit, friend didn't seem overly bothered by situation, but we are quite new friends so i wouldn't know for sure. Have i done the right thing by punishing the boys? To be honest I'm feeling a bit of an ogre

yes you've overreacted a little bit quad .. but don't feel bad about it .. go and give them a cuddle and remind them you love them then come back down and chill .. they love you .. you love them ... and you've done nothing most of us wouldn't have

Think you have dealt with it appropriately, they know it was wrong (they were upset). You punished them by sending them to bed early.

You are not an ogre

I would have foud it rather funny, if I had been your friend. But I would have told my boy off nonetheless.
