Health Visitor Letter

Hi,

I'm a brand new poster. Feeling pretty anxious as I have received a letter from Health Visitor saying they want to come to our home next week. My little is almost 20 months so not in their visit cycle. Why could they want to attend?

Thanks

Could it be for your DCs 2 year check? The HVs do them around that age...

I don't think so, the letter didn't contain a questionnaire on his progress and my friend who has a child a month older hasn't had their 2 year check yet.

Have you been visiting baby clinic regularly? If you haven't, or haven't needed to see the GP or any other healthcare providers then they may simply not see you on their radar and just want to check in to make sure you and your baby are OK. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks :) I have just checked his red book and we haven't been to clinic since I returned to work in July. We have been fortunate enough not to have to visit the GP for a while either.

It could simply be that then. Are your LOs vaccinations up to date too?

Please try not to worry, it’s probably something very simple.

Welcome to MN too Thanks

Why dont you ring and find out?

VisforVieve · 09/06/2018 16:03

I will do Monday, I didn't get home and open the letter until after they had shut.

All up to date with immunisations.

Thanks for the welcome and reassurance :)

You can decline, it's not compulsory to engage with HVs.
