my 11 month old started to refuse food about 5 days ago, started off refusing half his food then refusing lunch and dinner andonly eating brekfast to now refusing all meals. we are doing combination of blw and pureehe refuses both he literally spits the food out even his fave foods, he has 8 teeth and i cant see any others coming out or swollen gums or anything, hes walking very active and happy just point blanc refusing solids. hes been an amazing eater before walking a month ago he was eating 2 pouches and pudding for every meal along with milk between every meal, after starting to walk a month ago he cut down to 1 pouch and pudding or a decent baby led weaning meal. so this is strange to see him not eating. hes a big strong boy and has been in 12 to 18 months clothing since 9 months and is combo breastfeed and formula fed, formula in day bf at night or sometimes both if he finishes his bottle and wants more ill bf after. i know he wont starve himself or let himself go hungry but still worries me, its a phase i know he wont be on only milk at 3 years old i know lol but how long do theae stages average last? i feel like giving him like 2 days off solids and not offering him any food then try again on the third day? is that a good idea or should i continue to waste food? lol.

Hello my little boy did this at exactly the same age, lasted a month or so. We just kept offering foods as normal he would eat little bits especially yogurt but it did pass, back to normal now x

I will agree with PP. My DD is 11.5 months. We've literally just come out of a week long phase of her not eating well; either spitting food out or refusing point blank, unless it's natural Greek yogurt! Not even all her time favourite meals were working. In addition to the refusal to eat, we had tantrums and lots of whinging. No teeth or any signs of anything related to teething, so it might've been a leap. Also, the weather probably isn't helping.

However, since yesterday she seems to be back on track. Eating well again! Phew! Keep offering meals as per usual, it is just a phase and your baby will let you know if he is hungry!

I know you said you’ve checked for teeth, but my DS definitely did that when he was teething. Or a bit under the weather.

Hopefully he’ll be fine in a day or 2. Just maybe give some extra milk if he’s not eating
