Ready to Potty Train?

I'm in no rush to train my DD who was 2 in March, was planning to wait until summer when I can stick her in the garden lots! However, the last week or two whenever I've been to the loo she's followed me and insisted on having a piece of toilet paper to pretend to wipe herself then flush.

Then this morning she ran up to me, pulled her pyjama bottoms down and patted her nappy. I asked if she needed a wee and she said yes, so I took her to the loo and sat her on it. She didn't like it and wanted to get off so I ran off to find her potty. By the time I got back she'd weed on the floor.

I just told her she was a very clever girl for telling me and cleaned it up no fuss and explained the potty is here for her next time.

Her speech isn't great yet - although the last few weeks it's come on steadily - but she does communicate pretty well (like the removing of trousers and patting of the nappy).

Does she sound ready to train? First child here so I'm a bit clueless! I'm a SAHM so can easily just juggle plans and stay home for the next few days if needs be for it.

I think she could be. Read "Oh Crap! It's Potty Training " - you can get it from Amazon. It's a great book and has worked for everyone I know that has actually followed it. Most children are ready earlier than you think xx
