Bloodshot eyes and bruising on newborn

DS is two weeks old today and has bruising around his eyes and the eyeballs themselves are quite bloodshot. This is due to the speed he was born (4 minutes pushing!) but the midwives didn't say roughly how long it would take to clear up. Along with his jaundice his eyes look quite scary :o

If anyone elses baby has had bloodshot eyes, how long did they take to clear up?

All three of mine had some bloodshot eyes and one of mine four years later has burst blood vessels still around their nose as they were all born very quickly (my last labour from 5cm was five minutes so they rocketed out)
As long as they are happy it’s just with he pressure and speed of being born you have to just let it fade. Mine took a couple of days

Sisters first born had a forcepsmdovery and he had bruising which took about a week to fade on his face

Congratulations by the way!

My dd2 was born with a bloodshot eye as she was born quickly. If I remember rightly it took around 10 days to go. It was only one eye and just on the outer side though so cleared up quickly. Congratulations
