How can I help my disappointed children?

Anyone have any ideas to cheer up my children? We have had a caravan holiday booked for ages and this week the car broke down. We thought the garage could fix it yesterday but today the problem has returned despite their best efforts. So now, no car to tow the caravan, no weekend away and three inconsolable children.

Ah that's rubbish. Can you camp out in the garden? Bbq food!
Could you hire/borrow a car?

Can you use the money you would have spent to do some exciting things?

A small idea is a "camp out" in the living room, bring all pillows and blankets (mum and dad's too) and camp out with movies, board games, snacks and a whole lot of fun.

Maybe plan some days where you can get to them on the bus,

Thanks Aprilmightbemynewname and veggifriedbreakfast. We will hook the caravan up to electric in the drive and we can sleep in it tonight. We'll get some BBQ food from the local shop and hope that the rain stops.
I think a hire car will cost more than the actual pitch for the 3 nights and probably be difficult to find because of the tow bar requirement - my husband did try one place already.
We can still have all the snacks and treats that I bought for the weekend. I can take them into town on the bus tomorrow and treat them to something in their favourite shop.
