I wrote yesterday about being up most of Tuesday night with my daughter, high temp, being sick, nurse saw her yesterday and thought perhaps urine infection and should get results back today from that. Last night was another night of vomiting and diarrhoea and today she has been being sick again. She hasn’t wee’d at all today, isn’t really interested in drink. Tried to eat a bread roll earlier, first thing in nearly 2 days but since then has been really sick again. Am new to all this and not sure when to become concerned.

I'd go to the GP in your shoes (though I'm a bit risk averse!). I'd just worry about dehydration etc.

I hope she feels better soon. It's so horrid when they're ill.

Sounds like a stomach bug? Syringe 5 mls of fluid into her every 10 minutes and see if she keeps that down.

Small amounts of fluid as often as she’ll tolerate it.

Not weeing all day is a huge warning sign. She needs medical attention.

See a gp if she is not weeing

She has just done her first wee. The go surgery called to say her results are clear for the urine and then we mentioned she is still being sick to the receptionist. They have just called back and have offered her an appointment this afternoon. Will try the syringe and water. Thank you for the tips.

Dehydration is your biggest issue so yy to bits of fluids as much as you can. If you have dioralyte and she'll drink it that's better than water

That’s a good suggestion, I wouldn’t have thought of that but unfortunately it is no longer there.

I was actually sad when ours closed sure to it being a good barometer for hydration lol.

What Are the Signs and Symptoms of Dehydration?
a dry or sticky mouth.
few or no tears when crying.
eyes that look sunken.
in babies, the soft spot (fontanelle) on top of the head looks sunken.
peeing less or fewer wet diapers than usual.
dry, cool skin.
irritability.
drowsiness or dizziness

I've gone straight to a&e with dehydration before OP. If she gets worse, I'd go straight in

I would give her a special drink that has the mix of salt and sugar. In the USA they have this for kids called Pedialyte and here something called Dyrolyte. That helps balances the salts/sugar lost. I would give little sips of that. Or I give water down sports drink, as it has the same effect with the salt and sugar. I do not offer any food, until they actually want to eat. Main thing is to keep liquid down to hydrate. You could give ice chip to suck on as well.
