Hi all,

Just wondering if you could give me some ideas on your current routine of feeding? I am a first time mum and learning the ropes as they say.

Currently my almost 7 month old has porridge and a 4oz bottle in the morning, potatoes and veg plus a small bottle around 12.30, mid afternoon he has another 4oz bottle plus a mini yoghurt or custard. In he evening he has cereal and a 4oz bottle.

Does this sound ok or should I introduce something different?

Thank you 😊

Sounds ok - what really helped me was Annabel Karmels books, full of recipes and gives examples of daily feeding schedules

Sounds okay to me. I think around then I started to introduce different foods such as pasta, rice, fish, mince and pulses.

Thanks for the replies :)

I have been giving him tastes of things I have also so he can try little bits of pasta and bread etc.

It's just making sure he is getting enough and that what I'm giving is ok for his age. We are doing spoon fed rather than baby led so it's a learning curve but I'm glad you think I'm doing ok x

What kind of cereal is he getting in the evening? Can't he just have some of what you're having for dinner?

cazzy80 · 22/05/2018 10:56

He gets a Milupa bedtime cereal around 6/6.30pm. I kind of assumed having what we do at that time of the evening would be too heavy on his tummy as he goes to bed not long after. That's why he gets potato's and veg for his lunch as such :)

Can definitely start introducing pastas, meats etc now. My 7mo loves it but I do spoon fed and finger foods.

Thank you, he rarely refuses anything so I am confident he will enjoy the new textures and tastes. It's just making sure I don't introduce things too early but I will definitely take you r ideas on board now

Those "baby" cereals are pointless yokes, highly processed with no nutrients. Proper food like veg, mash, protein etc wouldn't be too heavy on his stomach before bed, better to have that proper food than the cereals which are just good marketing.

Hi op , my son is about to turn 7 months. He has
Breakfast - fruit and 4 oz bottle
3 hours later - 4/6 oz bottle.
Lunch - pasta/chicken/sweet potato with veg. 4 oz bottle.
2 hours later- 4/6oz bottle.
Dinner - yoghurt, 4 oz bottle.
2 hours later - bedtime bottle 6 oz.

Throughout the day he has tastes of whatever we're eating. He's very into hard boiled eggs and pieces of bread at the moment.

Thanks MagicFajita for sharing a snippet of your day, I think I will maybe rechange his day around to something similar and see how we get on Smile
