My 4 year old DD likes Flat Stanley and retro series like My Naughty Little Sister.

Okido comic is excellent if you're after an info-type comic for that age group

Family got my dd a nat geo subscription as a present and it was great. I would say it would be a bit better for a reception age child who is starting to read, but most of it you’ll have to read with them anyway. We enjoyed it and kept them for her to read herself when she’s older.
