Dreading going back to work

I will be going back to work, after 1yr of maternity leave, after having my first baby. I will be going back part time. This may sound selfish, but even though im going back part time, every time i think about leaving her, i start to cry. I hate the thought of not being with her.

How part time will you be, and who will be looking after her? Do you absolutely have to go back to work, or could you manage financially for a few years till she's in school, then think about a return to work?

I'm sure you know that she will be fine, but you are obviously finding the thought of it very hard.

If you HAVE to go back to work for financial reasons, try to look at the positives - some adult conversation, some mental stimulation, etc.

Unfortunately i have to go back, will be doing either 3 or 4 days, depending on what my manager approves. Family will be looking after her.

I know it feels tough but honestly if you're only going back part time (rather than full time) and your LO will be cared for on those days by loving family members (rather than strangers) then count yourself lucky!
