Oral thrush?

Hey guys,

Called docs this morning as think little one has oral thrush, they said it can be treated by pharmacy, took him there but hey said he needs to be 16wks (he's 14wks). Anyway he's had thrush before but this time his tongue looks pink/sore as opposed to white. Is this oral thrush?

Thanks

It’s hard to say. Are you bf and do you have thrush? They should be able to do a swab at the GP, though it isn’t always conclusive. Especially if you’re bf, my understanding is usually they treat even when it’s only suspected so that feeding isn’t interrupted.

They can treat oral thrush with the gel but you probably have to have it prescribed. I used it on my ds when he was 10 days old.
